Summertime

I love summer. Let's face it, it's sensual. In spite of June and July acting like May or September, we've been pretty busy enjoying the summer. We always have a bunch of kin come up for Memorial Day. It's nice now that my brother Gregory and wife have moved to Bemidji at least for the warmer months. She's a Californian. And their son Alex has been living with us since April, we have to take good care of him because he is the only boy child of that generation, with about 11 girls. We need someone to carry on the Meuers name.

Kinda got off summer here. The hotter the better, which is not this year. Darn! 'Cause boy like the "Boss", I do like girls in sumer clothes. Lucky I have an understanding wife. We like to be on the water with our pontoon, just cruising, sometimes swimming, or just relaxing in the sun. We did the 4th of July fireworks with friends and relatives on the pontoon which is a nice perspective. We try to make the most of it - doing things, going places. We've jumped in the water a couple of times, a little cool not having those upper 80 degree days to warm it, but refreshing anyway.

This past weekend, we did the Dragon boat festival for the 4th year. Always fun, see lots of folks you know. People come from all over. There is always a grand and crazy parade of teams patterned after the Olympics...sorta. But visiting, music and dancing in the tent afterwards is always a lot of fun, they play my kind of Rock 'n Roll. I even danced a couple times and didn't get all worn out. Maybe I'm finally losing that weight. Somehow I'm feeling younger lately. If I figure it out, I'll let you know.

I sure hope August warms up like it's supposed to. Summer goes by too fast, I want some heat.
